The Giving Tide
Category: Outdoor Scenes

Taken on the beaches of Nusa Lembongan, Indonesia this image captures the daily ebb and flow of tidal life on the island. Each day, when the tide goes out, locals from the island make the trek out to their seaweed farm plots and then back to the shore to sort, dry, process and package the seaweed for international sale. This is a key part of their day, and while parents and adults work hard, the children entertain themselves with games and fish herding in the shallows. As always, mount Agung towers in the background.
