At the watering place

Category: Travel Portraits

Photo and caption by Kathrin Königl

Kamaraj Nagar is a very small, forgotten village in South India, surrounded by hills and banana plantations. Most of the inhabitants live in very small clay huts, without running water. Therefore, and for washing clothes, refreshing, cleaning the cattle, they use the small, dirty river which flows through the village. There I caught the twelve year old Ajay by having a "shower".

Location: Kamaraj Nagar, Tamil Nadu, South India
