Lake Titicaca Reed Boat

Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by Margaret Farrell

A reed boat moves slowly across the deep waters of Lake Titicaca near the Isla Del Sol in Bolivia. The boat is made from Totora reeds, and the craftsmen of Lake Titicaca are probably the last people to retain this ancient art. The lake, on the border of Peru and Bolivia, is 3,810 metres above sea level.

Location: Isla Del Sol, Lake Titicaca, Bolivia, South America
