Eyes of Hope

Category: Travel Portraits

Photo and caption by Hayley Barbato

This picture was taken while I was on a trip providing medical care to the village of Po Plume which lies on the outskirts of Haiti on the border of the Dominican Republic. The village is poverty stricken, with little to no access to fresh water and essential every day amenities. While they live in some of the most unimaginable conditions, they are some of the most welcoming and happy people I have ever had the privilege to meet. The children there will steal your heart and give you a reason to come back again and again.

Location: Po Plume, Haiti
