Descending the trail to Serpent Lake from the Santa Barbara Divide in the Pecos Wilderness, NM, we encountered a big horn sheep. He kept advancing and we kept a downed log between us and his big horns. He finally stopped to eye us from 10 feet away, while five other sheep went behind us. Surrounded by Big Horn Sheep!

Location: Pecos Wilderness, NM above Serpent Lake
