The boots exist in a ghost town (Gwarlia, 233 km north of Kalgoolie WA). They how symbolize the place as it was once, the place it is now and the people who once lived there. Gwarlia was a thriving mining town of 800 inhabitants. In the late 19 century Herbert Hoover President of the United States managed the gold mine.
