While trekking in Nepal on the Annapurna Circuit we came upon this woman working in the fields, cutting grass with a sickle, adorned in colorful clothing and jewelry. I wanted to take her photo but was too far away for us to ask permission. As I raised my camera the woman looked up at us and Stephen gave the traditional ‘Nameste’ bow, signifying greetings and respect. The lady responded with a smile and her own ‘Nameste’. The photo instantly became one of our favorites. We would have loved have been able to talk with her and learn about her life but time and distance did not permit.
