Taquile

Category: Travel Portraits

Lake Titicaca, which borders Peru and Bolivia, contains various islands populated with indigenous tribes. One of these islands, Taquile, is known for its beautiful stone archways. We were making our way across the island when we saw this man with a basket on his back, climbing up the stone steps and not paying any heed to the tourists. It was a surreal and unexpected moment - I felt like I had stumbled upon a private world.

Location: Peru
