African Fish Eagle Takes the Bait

"Get your camera ready!" commanded "Captain Joseph," our snaggletoothed but extremely knowledgable tour guide. With a thunderstorm looming, I brought my camera out from under my jacket as he nosed our skiff into the open water of Lake Naivasha. He whistled an astonishingly accurate eagle call, and the bird left its perch and began an approach immediately. Captain Joseph reached into a bag and tossed a fish into the water. The eagle struck the water like lightning and was gone.

Location: Lake Naivasha, Kenya, Africa
