Invaded Space

Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by Sarah James

As we were making our way through the Rocky Mountain National Park, we were about to drive away from this beautiful lookout and spotted a group of about four elk. I put on my 300mm lens and walked up about 20 feet away from the elk. They were so peaceful. There were roughly twenty people gathered around snapping photos of these calm creatures. The other elk were just minding their own business while this elk radiated a sense of personality. He acted as if his space was being slightly invaded and he seemed a little sassy.

Location: Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, United States
