During a road trip through California, after a week of no showers camping in the National Parks, we changed tunes and headed to the Sonoma Valley to treat ourselves to a day of wine tasting. During a tour of the Alexander Valley we stepped out of the car and while the rest of my group headed into the winery, I noticed this groundskeeper going row by row checking on the grapes. I was captivated thinking about the process these grapes go through and the hard work that's put into taking care of them by people like this, in order to create these world-class wines I was about to taste.
