While sitting on a bench in the Plaza de Armas on an innocuous Sunday, the faint noise of drums could be heard in the distance. As the drumming grew louder a parade emerged from an alley. The parade emerged with an explosion of colors and sound. There were infants through elders dancing in beautifully colored gowns and suits. I've seen several parades throughout my life, but this Peruvian parade will remain indelibly etched in my mind.

Location: Cuzco, Peru
