Golden Autumn Leaves, Fork in the Path
Category: Sense of Place
Photo and caption by Khoon-Min Lim
On this beautiful November 2011 autumn afternoon in Central Park, I was struck by how the afternoon light was filtered and diffused by the autumn leaves, which shimmered between bright yellow and dark gold. I wanted to capture this but did not want the picture of this natural beauty to be distracted by the throngs of people. So I waited, and waited. I was elated when my intended picture was down to several people. Suddenly a woman walked into my picture. I was annoyed. Then she stopped at the fork as if unsure of the choices presented by the fork in the path. I quickly snapped this picture.
Location: Central Park, Manhattan, New York
