This New York blizzard died down quickly. Unusual. When I arrived, the usually activity-filled Great Lawn of Central Park was an eerily quiet large white snow sheet against a whitish gray sky. I was standing at the south end of The Lawn. To the northwest side, I noticed a woman, elegantly dressed in white fur jacket, gray fur hat, slim blue jeans, started eastward on her cross-country skis. Her motion was so smooth, graceful and rhythmic that it expressed joy and contentment. I imagined I heard the gentle rhythmic swooshing of her skis though the soft white powder.
