It's deep night when the warning arrives from the beach. A caretta caretta turtle starts to dig her nest. Accompanied by the researchers we arrive at the point where the turtle has just dug her nest and is beginning to lay her eggs. It all happens in the dark to avoid disturbing the turtle. Only a torch lights up the eggs. We are all in silence while, as it happens over millions of years, the miracle of life begins once again.

Location: Ervatao beach, Boavista, Cape Verde
