Libertas- Liberty Enlightening the World

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Ghulam Makhdoom

Independence, freedom, social justice, and knowledge – the pillars on which our nation stands are best presented in the form of the Statue of Liberty as she stands to welcome those who come to the Land of Opportunity. As the sunsets, she stands proudly, her head held high, holding the torch of enlightenment, reminding anyone who looks at her that this is still a nation whose name is synonymous with liberty and freedom- the very foundations of our glorious birth.

Location: Liberty Island, New York, NY, USA
