Tikal in the Morning

Category: Sense of Place

We snuck into Tikal and camped inside. It was one of the most amazing feelings I have experienced to wake up in such a beautiful ancient place. I woke up around 4:30 am to shoot before people were allowed in and wonder around. This particular morning was foggy and grey and the howler monkeys were waking up with us as well. My friend is a yoga teacher and I found him just as he was done stretching and gazing out to the Jaguar temple, what used to be crawling with people at one point in time.

Location: Tikal, Guatemala
