A monk apprentice (novice) is carrying a big bag of Pimay (Lao New Year) donations. As monks are not supposed to earn their living, they depend on the offerings from the community for their meals. Every morning at dawn, each monastery sends its monks on the streets to collects alms. On Pimay, the volume of offerings dramatically increases, as it is good fortune to give on this particular date.

Location: Luang Prabang, Laos
