Thule Bherri Girl

Category: Travel Portraits

Photo and caption by Jakub Sedivy

I took this portrait of a nomad girl on the hike up the river during the Thule Bherri Expedition in November 2010. It was early morning and the temperatures were just above zero Celsius. The culture and living in Dolpa is rough but people seem to be happy. Shortly after this photo was taken we hiked to our starting point of a 6 days self support expedition 240kms down the Thule Bherri mighty rapids.

Location: Tarakot, Dolpa Region, Nepal
