Icebergs on the beach

I was fascinated to watch several icebergs float out to sea from the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon in South East Iceland. Some just rolled back and forth in the surf, others got washed up and stranded where they slowly started to melt in all their beauty. It was a marvel to behold, but also a poignant reminder of global warming and how these glacial natural wonders are rapidly retreating and shrinking as each year passes.
Location: Mouth of Jökulsárlón lagoon, South East Iceland
