This egret had been fishing for his dinner in the Popoyo Surf Zone in Nicaragua. He was constantly in and out of the waves, sometimes catching his prey and sometimes not. His elegant movements and his sleek form against the bubbling surf captivated me. As an artist, I was amazed by the resulting photograph with its contrasting patterns and subtle color play.
