African Python- a dash for safety

Category: Spontaneous Moments

Photo and caption by Jack Hochfeld

We had settled in for an afternoon nap when our guide called us to show us an African python. I was down on my hands and knees in the leaves and branches and had set up an off camera flash. The python had coiled up to strike and must have felt threatened when i moved my hand to place the flash. He made a dash for safety.
