Horseshoe Falls

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Bruce Kennedy

A close-up of the Horseshoe Falls at the very apex of the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, recently traversed by tightrope walker Nik Wallenda. More often seen in panoramic views, this close-up shows a small group of ducks sitting on a rock outcrop at the very brink of the falls, seemingly oblivious to the thunderous roar of the torrent of water cascading down the escarpment. The slightly long exposure makes the water flow appear to have a silk-like quality as it rushes past.

Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
