Visions in Red

Category: Sense of Place

While in Rajasthan last summer, my father and I decided to take a trip to Ranakpur to see the renowned Jain temple. The temple is supported by 1444 marble pillars and no two pillars are the same. My breath was taken away by the extraordinary craftsmanship and beauty of the temple. As I stood awestruck in the center, two women dressed in red saris strolled by and I quickly captured this image. The detailed elegance of the saris complements these incredibly crafted pillars and creates this romantic image.

Location: Ranakpur, Rajasthan, India
