Between Hedges
Category: Sense of Place

I was initially disappointed that the only day I had to visit Versailles turned out to be overcast and rainy, but the upside was that the gardens were virtually empty. While standing on an elevated walkway, I happened to see a tourist strolling through the towering hedge rows of the garden. The rain added a striking, somber mood to the scene. On a normal day the garden would be packed and this shot would have been impossible!
