In India so much of the daily trade happens on the side of the road. It exists on what is most often a barren mud strip between the asphalt of the road and the structures in the background. These young men are on constant watch for their next customer. The fine mud particles constantly in suspension in the air create a haze and filter effect, softening details and colors.
