It was a treat for me to observe the costumes and characters that were present at the Mermaid Parade. While I struggled to get a more elevated perspective as the parade went by, I noticed this savvy well-coiffed group of friends who successfully managed to find the best spot up on the rooftop of a building that had signs from the old days in Coney Island.
