Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Jacqueline M. Koh

A body rests preserved in the ashes from Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii, Italy. I am taken back in time to AD 79 when the eruptions decimated the people of Pompeii. Here, I have captured the detail of the preserved bones exposed in the foot of this skeleton.

Location: Pompeii, Italy
