Nazarenos doing public penance in the "La Madrugá" procession during the holy week " Semana Santa". La Madruga is the group of processions which leave after midnight on Thursday and pass through the streets of Seville until Good Friday. Nazarenos are members of brotherhoods, dressed in a robe, cone shaped hood -to hide his or her identity, and a cape. This group were walking through the streets with candles as though the candles are the light of hope in darkness, in a solemn atmosphere and in the strong aroma of incense. Some were walking barefoot.
Location: Seville, Andalusia, Spain
