Shila the great

Category: Travel Portraits

Photo and caption by Cedric Houin

Shot in the summer village of Borak in Afghanistan, this is a little girl we called Shila. I shot this portrait of her in a little wakhi house, full of smoke as her grandmother was boiling water for tea. The only combustible available in the mountains is yak shit, which produce a lot of smoke.

Location: Wakhan Corridor Afghanistan
