Main Quarry- Easter Island

This is on the rim of the main quarry on Easter Island. On the far side of the quarry is where the traditional Tangata manu (bird-man) challenge takes place. The competition consists of climbing down the steep cliff, swim through shark infested water, collect a egg from the islet Motu Nui swim back to Rapa Nui and return to the clifftop village of Orongo without breaking the egg.
