Takeo, Cambodia is a sleepy town about an hour and a half outside of Phnom Penh. There are only a few paved roads in the city, most are dirt or gravel. About 20 minutes outside of town on a particularly dusty road, we pulled up to a house. We opened the door to a wall of warm, humid air. This building had been transformed into a textile workshop. About 20 weaving stations were set up on the ground floor, completely open to the outside air. Upstairs in the loft, one lone weaver worked. This man works spinning cotton thread every day, and sleeps in the house at night as a security guard.
