In a row

I was at Lake Almanor for my Great Grandmother's memorial in August 2012. The smoke from a nearby wildfire hung heavy in the air - visibility was only a couple hundred feet. My lungs did not much care for the smoke, but I found it to be visually stimulating. It such a different view than what I've seen every year since I was five years old. I took my cameras down to the water to make some photos and I noticed some geese paddling in a line along the top of the lake. I waited for them to come closer, hopeful that one of the boats on the water would not interfere. I was not disappointed.

Location: Lake Almanor, California, USA
