Abandoned Piers of Eastie

This spring sunset was really dramatic as the cold front came through Boston on April Fool's Day (it was no joke, however; the air behind it was frigid!). The sky was clearing to the west and the sun made a last-minute appearance, illuminating the underside of the thick cloud layer with hot pink color, and casting the most beautiful, warm light on the west-facing facades of Boston's downtown skyscrapers. The mixed sensation of warm and cold air was matched by the combination of warm and cool colors in the whole scene. It was a very fleeting moment of beauty.
