Iceberg Graveyard - Antarctica

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Kellie Netherwood

Visiting Antarctica feels like stepping onto another planet and the vastness of the landscape and size of the icebergs that populate it are difficult to capture in a single image. "Iceberg Graveyard" in Pleneau Bay is home to both large tabular icebergs and older, rolled icebergs that have run aground. And the zodiac boat beneath this iceberg in the Bay attempts to create a sense of scale that is difficult to describe.

Location: Pleneau Bay, Antarctica
