Mooney Falls from Above

Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by Stellina Giannitsi

This is Mooney Falls, the third and last major waterfall (among tens of waterfalls) in Havasupai Indian Reservation, into the Grand Canyon. As I was walking the trail before the vertical descent to the waterfall base, I saw a dog looking down the 300-ft cliff; and there was the mouth of Mooney Falls! It is considered the most sacred of the waterfalls for the Havasupai tribe. The photograph was taken on Thanksgiving day, November 2012.

Location: Havasupai Indian Reservation - Grand Canyon, Arizona
