Kung Fu Nuns in a Kathmandu Cafeteria

Category: Spontaneous Moments

Photo and caption by Michaela Wilson

Nuns take time out from serving visitors in the small cafeteria at the Amitabha Drukpa Nunnery in Kathmandu. The nuns practise Kung Fu daily as part of their meditation and the nunnery, high up in the hills on the outskirts of Kathmandu, attracts many visitors. I was sold packet noodles and tea in the small visitor cafeteria there, and took this shot of the nuns taking advantage of a quiet moment to gather by the window, watch the tourists and have a chat.

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal
