Roasting coffee beans

Category: Spontaneous Moments

Photo and caption by Sarah Batley

This was taken during a coffee-farm tour in Tanzania. We were shown how coffee is made from scratch, starting with the bean from the coffee tree and then eventually progressing to sun-drying, roasting, and grinding up the beans. When in the pot, the beans must be stirred continuously in order to prevent them from burning.

Location: Marangu, Tanzania
