Photo and caption by Jimmy Hickey
As a young traveler I find myself visiting densely populated areas. It wasn't until recently that I discovered the beauty of mankind's left-behinds and mother natures eccentric beauty. This photo was taken at the base of the Giant's Causeway located in Antrim, northeast coast of Ireland. Over 40,000 basalt columns formed from a volcanic eruption, now these geometric stepping stones ascend from the sea, and into the sky. It is no question why it is considered to be one of the U.K.s greatest natural wonders.
Location: Antrim, North Ireland
