Great Pyramid

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Antoine Boesch

There is usually quite a crowd near the pyramids, so this photo gives an unusual sense of stillness. The guard under his shelter looks tiny and insignificant besides the enormous monument having crossed millennia, and the scarred road, though quite modern, looks almost as ageless as the monument it is leading to.

Location: Cairo, Egypt
