Sea Gulls taking off

Category: Sense of Place

There are 8 sand dunes on Indian Ocean between South India and North of Sri Lanka of which 4 belong to India and the other 4 to Sri Lanka. With the 30 year war in SL we could not visit the North from 1983 - 2011 as LTTE were controlling the area. In Mar 13 we visited Mannar a fishing village in North west of SL and made a trip to the 2nd sand dune early morning by Navy boat. No people but golden sandy beaches stretched far and different colours of the ocean could be seen with lots of birds and fish. Managed to capture thousands of sea gulls waiting on line and taking off.
