The Japanese Doll Festival (Hina-matsuri) is held on March 3. It's also called "the Girls' Festival" because it's to wish for girls' growth and happiness. Families with girls display a set of dolls in beautiful ancient court costumes of the Heian era. I visited "Home of Hina Dolls / Yame Bonbori (Paper Lantern) Festival"in Yame City,Fukuoka,Japan. About 300 hina dolls were displayed in a room at the doll hall.
