Pelican eating Yellow Fin Tuna, Galapagos

Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by Linda Lipkin

Late afternoon, on a boat in the harbor at Puerto Villamil, we came upon two fishermen cleaning and filleting their catch of Yellow Fin tuna. The men tossed the unusable bits into the bay, and their actions attracted huge numbers of hungry birds -- mostly frigates and pelicans. I caught this one with its gullet full.

Location: Isabela Island, Galapagos
