Situated on the desolate Rannoch Moor in the Highlands Scotland, with the Black Mount mountain range in the distance. The boggy moorland is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), as well as a conservation area. The image was taken after a cold April night, which had seen the lochan freeze over in places.
