Evening in La Petite Venise, Colmar, France

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Peter Burian

Although it is located in the Alsace area of France, Colmar had been annexed by Germany for some years so it retains a strong character of German architecture. The Little Venice area (so named because it is built on canals) is particularly beautiful, especially in the evening.

Location: Little Venice area, Colmar, France, along the Alsatian Wine Route
