The Majesty of the Himalayas

Category: Sense of Place

While in Ladakh, India, I spent hours every day traveling from valley to valley through the Himalayas. I was surrounded by the most beautiful mountains had I ever seen- shifting in colours from turquoise to red to blue depending on the light- and as a photographer I was very frustrated of not being able to translate the greatness of the mountains into my pictures. Until I saw this monastery laying under the mountains in Nubra valley. I waited until the sun hit the monastery and took my shot. When I saw the shot I knew that I had captured a piece of the majesty of the Himalayas.

Location: Nubra Valley, Ladakh, India
