Safe Passage

Category: Sense of Place

Crossing the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge boasted uncompromising views of Scotland and Rathlin Island. But the island also offered much more than that: gentle, warm ocean breezes; lush, soft, tall grasses peppered with purple and yellow flowers; and a variety of mosses completed the experience and reaffirmed to us that we were, indeed, in Ireland. Crossing the bridge was an exhilarating experience in itself, probably partially due to the realization that the only way back off the island was to recross!

Location: Northern Ireland
