Tunnel of Ice

Climbing a glacier is not as frigid of an experience as you might imagine it to be. Bouts of wind, hail, and snow couple with moments of tranquility, utter silence, and a stillness that makes you feel as though you are having an out-of-body experience. As the glacier unfolds beneath your feet, shades of blue ice reveal themselves in the form of water slides, cliffs, holes, and tunnels. Our guide was excellent, and he safely navigated us through a tunnel in this glacier. Strap on your crampons!
