Locust, Old and New

Category: Spontaneous Moments

Photo and caption by Stephanie Baker

This is the first time in my 38 years too witness this amazing transformation. It was especially fascinating because it all took place on my deck, I noticed this while watering my plants one evening. The roar of all the Locusts in the Prince William Forest Park, right across the street sounds like a thousand weed eaters going off at the same time. The sound and amount of them in the trees truly makes you understand the power in numbers.

Location: Dumfries/ Quantico, Virginia
