Racing on a frozen lake during the Siberian winter

Category: Travel Portraits

Photo and caption by Benn Berkeley

An image captured during the Siberian Black Ice Race on Lake Baikal, Russia. The race took place during the Siberian Winter and the huge frozen lake. It was a surreal experience being alone on the ice, listening to the ice moving and creaking beneath my feet was unnerving a few days into the race I fell through the ice and discovered what cold really was! The photo hasn't been edited in any way at all. The full story of my experience on the race can be found here: Thanks for your time.

Location: Lake Baikal, Siberia, Russia
